Site visited summer 2002

The site is on the edge of the village on the Dublin side. The road through the village is quite busy and fast at peak times.

This is a very clean, well organised site but has a rule for every eventuality which is a bit off-putting.

The site is mostly hardstanding with humps which can be used to level the van. There is notice in reception which says that the electricity is only 6 amp (says 5 amp in the guide book) and so not suitable for heaters or kettles etc. We decided to have the electricity and used our small 750w kettle and 1kw heater (not at the same time) without blowing anything.

Campervan and two people was 15.24 and electricity 1.90e. Hot water free but showers were 63c. In a good location if you want to drive to near-by places of interest but so good if it is cycling or walking you like to do.

Just a wee update on Roundwood........

Great touring base in the heart of the Wicklow mountains, beautifully kept, now 24 euros per night and 1 euro for showers.
Bad news - The site is closing at the end of this season.
The owners are retiring and have sold the land to developers, so it will most likely be used for housing.
