I have one piece of advice with regards to this campsite - stay away.

This site is owned by Mr B & J Battick. This site is basically a small field next to somebodys house. The grass was uncut, the ground uneven and the toilet block a disgrace, it was dark, dirty and very old. It looked like it hasn’t been cleaned or painted since the day it was built. Disgusting. There was nothing, no soap dispensers, no toilet rolls, no hairdryer, nothing!

The lady who runs this site was very rude and not at all friendly. She constantly watched you and you didn’t feel like you could relax. There was a shop on site which was selling beer and other alcoholic drinks even though the shop is not licensed. This, to me defines what kind of people run this site.

The site is also very close to a large gypsy compound and theft is a problem in the area. The only upside for this site was a small play park, although it was all on sand which made a mess everywhere. Again the lady who runs this site kept an accusing eye on all of the children as they played.

The town of Porthcawl is very quaint. It has a lovely little seafront to walk along and has a fair sized amusement park with rides for all ages.

Overall I would say that Porthcawl is a nice place to visit but please take my advise and don’t go to this site. It will ruin your trip away.
