Open all year

This is a small "Certificated Location", a site for Caravan Club members only, limited to a maximum of 5 units at any time.
Access is from J35 of the M4, turning north on the A473, then right at the first roundabout, following the by road until you turn left at a cross road, signposted "City", pass another crossroad, then turn right in about 150 meters, again signposted "City", and the farm entrance is on the right in 100 m.
The entrance is complex; take the 2nd entrance into the farmyard, and come out again by the first gate, and the site is a separate gate into the field. Basically, you’re just using the yard to turn round as the field entrance is too acute a turn from the road, and approaching from the other direction renders you likely to lose a mirror or two in the narrow bits!!

The field slopes down more sharply at the top than at the bottom (1 ramp would do at the bottom, 2 ramps or a couple of blocks at the top), but the lower bit is obviously less well drained. The only facilities are the water tap and waste disposal, but each pitch does have a full 16 amp electrical supply. The charge, including electricity and an awning is £6 per night.
The site lies in the valley of the river Rhiw, a beautiful wide glacial valley, with gently wooded slopes full of birdsong, and, Foot and Mouth allowing, the countryside is riddled with good footpaths. Bridgend is about 4 miles away, Cardiff about 14, and the coast from Cardiff Bay to the Gower is all worth a visit, justifiably being called the Heritage Coast.

Fresh eggs are sometimes available at the farmhouse, but for other supplies the best bet was a Tesco superstore just outside Bridgend, on the A48. The site is run by 2 brothers, Keith and John Watkins, who can be contacted on 01446 772267.
